Elon Musk will step away as planned when he finishes his work for this year. He can only work for the government for 130 days in a single year.
DOGE Designer was likely the first to correct the Politico “scoop” that Elon Musk would step away from leading the DOGE team. DOGE Designer said it was an attempt to divide Trump and Musk.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed today that Elon Musk will leave his position as a “special government employee” next month after completing his work with the Department of Government Efficiency.
It has been reported that special employees can only work 130 days in a one-year period. He has to leave by the end of May.
“This ‘scoop’ is garbage,” Leavitt posted to X. “Elon Musk and President Trump have both *publicly* stated that Elon will depart from public service as a special government employee when his incredible work at DOGE is complete.”
“Politico has become a tabloid paper that would rather run fake news for clicks than real reporting,” White House spokesman Harrison Fields told Fox News. “This is exactly why President Trump and DOGE have terminated millions of dollars in wasteful, government contracts to so-called news organizations that have diminished their credibility with the American people.”

President Donald Trump and Elon Musk reached a joint decision to have Mr. Musk step down from leading DOGE [Department of Government Efficiency].
Elon Musk will go back to the business world and to Tesla and SpaceX. Tesla just lost 13% in global stock alone.
Musk sank $20 million into the Wisconsin Supreme Court race and lost by far more than Trump did last year.
On the report that Musk will step down, Tesla stocks soared. It’s amazing how revolutionary communists can destroy a car company and run the government after an election with a clear mandate to fulfill an agenda.
Trump brought him in to clean up the bloated government and the far-left slush funds. Hopefully, his people can carry on.
