Rep. Elise Stefanik asked Director Christopher Wray tough questions at today’s hearing, but he did not answer them directly. He’s a most enlightening and political public servant.
“Are you aware that there is an audio recording of Joe Biden saying to his ghostwriter in 2016: ‘I just found all the classified documents stuff downstairs’?”
For want of a better word, FBI Director Wray used weasel words typical of the swamp, not really addressing the issue.
After he gave his non-answer, and Elise Stefanik said, “It sounds like you might be aware of it.”
Wray referred her to the Special Counsel, his testimony, and his report.
Stefanik questioned him to find out if there was any counterintelligence investigation of Joe Biden or Donald Trump, and he gave his customary responses.
“I would just say I’ll refer you to the special counsel.”
She insisted on an answer.
Wray said, “There’s no investigation that I could confirm.”
Stefanik had noted that Jim Comey didn’t inform Congress of the Crossfire Hurricane probe, and she wanted to know if he would should another investigation take place. Wray wouldn’t give a “yes” or “no” answer. He said, “We will comply with the law.”
He continually fell back on the idea that “We will comply with the law,” but in the past, that has been one that did not conform to the Constitution.
She asked him about his understanding of the law. He said he’d refer to the lawyers, even though he is their boss.
At one point, he said he’d have to refer to the lawyers to determine if he was “appropriately complying with the law.”
She asked Dir. Wray, if he or his staff consulted with the White House or the Attorney General on the search of Mar-a-Lago, Wray said, “Well, any search would be done in coordination with the Department of Justice.”
Watch, it’s painful:
BOMBSHELL.
